WAUKESHA — A quick Google search of the term “cyberbullying” will bring up thousands of cases from across the country. The issue has been under even more nationwide scrutiny after a number of suicides among young children and teens. Social media trends like the Blue Whale Challenge have also come into the national spotlight due to their dark nature and aim to get young children to harm themselves. Dr. Scott Poland, a nationally recognized licensed psychologist, says that preventing cyberbullying and other sinister trends starts at home.
Keeping kids safe while in school is becoming increasingly difficult as we see the proliferation of technology among youth. One of the newest threats is Cyberbullying, which has quickly become a serious problem among kids in elementary school through high school.
We sat down with Brian Taylor who has been working in education and safety for over 18 years. At Vector Solutions, Brian focuses on innovative technology solutions that help create safer more inclusive schools and solve complex education-related problems. Along with Brian Taylor, we sat down with Dr. John Mayer who is a Clinical Psychologist and leading expert on teens and families, to talk about bullying.
